CCP Reignites Commitment to EVE Online Fan Base with Release of Winter Expansion

 

Reykjavik, Iceland – November 30, 2011 –CCP, one of the world’s leading independent game developers, today launched its Winter expansion, EVE Online: Crucible. With this latest release, after expanding the EVE experience with in-station environments and ultra-realistic 3D player avatars, CCP is recommitting itself to the compelling “spaceship” gameplay that has engaged the EVE community for almost a decade and provided legendary and unique gaming stories since its inception. 

EVE Online: Crucible contains over fifty new features and hundreds of enhancements aimed at improving the player experience. These features and fixes were selected by scrutinizing community feedback and focusing on the changes that would make the most immediate impact on the game for the majority of EVE players.

CCP Focuses on the EVE Universe

At CCP we have been working hard to expand the gaming landscape by applying the knowledge and expertise we've built up with EVE Online to create a new experience within the EVE Universe in DUST 514, as well as a new video game franchise in World of Darkness.

 

During the last few months, as evidenced by our interaction with the community, we made some missteps on that journey.

 

As we reexamine our outward relations, we are also taking time to reevaluate our internal goals. In doing so, we have come to the conclusion that we are attempting too many things for a company our size. Developing EVE expansions, DUST 514 and World of Darkness has stretched our resources too thin.

As a volume of sharing has reached its second milestone, the epic accomplishment puts another 1,000 Aurum, one of EVE’s virtual currencies, into the wallets of every active EVE player. CCP Games Announces Georgia Expansion

 

International gaming developer to relocate North American headquarters, create 150 jobs

 

ATLANTA-Georgia Governor Nathan Deal announced today that CCP Games, the Reykjavik, Iceland-based digital entertainment developer, will relocate its CCP North America headquarters from Gwinnett County to the City of Decatur in DeKalb County.  This move is expected to create 150 new jobs over three years, bringing the company's U.S. staff total to 300 by 2013.
