Technical Director

CCP is looking for a Technical Director to lead the software development efforts of our upcoming MMOG. The Technical Director will make strategic technology decisions for the game as well as CCP's shared technology platform. This will require thinking long term as well as driving the needs of the project forward in the short term. The Technical Director will lead the efforts of a local team of programmers as well as directing the efforts of remote programmers in other offices when required. The position will require strong programming and architecture abilities but will not be an individual contributor position.

Responsibilities include:
  • Primary technical leader and decision maker for the development of the MMOG
  • Collaborates with Technical Directors in other offices to collaboratively build CCP's shared technology platform
  • Makes strategic technology decisions for the game and the company
Provides technical leadership and mentorship to local programmers Directs the efforts of programmers in other offices leading up to product launch Maintains and continues to grow game after launch

Required Experience/skills
  • Typically requires masters or equivalent in computer sciecne
  • 10+ years programming experience
  • 3+ years experience in a position of technical leadership
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in game development a plus
