May 21, 2019 – Reykjavík, Iceland – CCP Games, the creators of the in-depth and uniquely player-driven spaceship MMO game EVE Online, shared more details today about EVE Down Under. This Aussie edition is the third event of the year-long EVE Invasion World Tour, a global series of capsuleer conventions, bringing EVE Online closer to its community than ever before. On May 23, EVE Down Under kicks off a weekend-long EVE fest in Sydney, Australia, at the SMC Center.

This year’s event will be the biggest EVE Down Under ever in terms of CCP attendance, with a total of ten developers participating, including CCP’s CEO Hilmar V. Pétursson, who marks his first time attending the Australian event and will be delivering a presentation on how EVE Online acts as a friendship-making machine.

Capsuleers can still purchase EVE Down Under tickets here, or join in via livestream on Twitch here. The full EVE Down Under presentation schedule can be found in CCP’s EVE Down Under Megablog EVE Down Under Megablog. As the third of the eight EVE Online fan events that make up the EVE Invasion World Tour, EVE Down Under will feature announcements, developer AMA sessions, unique in-game rewards and parties.

The EVE Invasion Tournament Series continues during EVE Down Under, with each World Tour stop featuring a single-elimination tournament where players can win bragging rights and PLEX. In addition, every winning team from all tournament locations will be invited for a paid trip to CCP’s home in Reykjavik, Iceland, to showcase their prowess in battle and compete against each other at EVE Fanfest 2020. EVE Down Under attendees can sign up for the single elimination 2v2 tournament here.

“The way in which our community has embraced the EVE Invasion World Tour has been incredible so far,” said Hilmar V. Pétursson, CEO of CCP Games. “I’m very much looking forward to discussing internet spaceships and presenting to our pilots on quite literally the opposite side of the planet for the first time.”
